brass hose attachment nozzle. "BOSS" embossed in metal near top spout. Screw thread at bottom of piece (point of attachment), cylindrical-shaped with tapered spout at end. "The Beek(r?)nap Mfg. Co., Bridgeport, Con." is imprinted in metal at bottom exterior lip near attachment. (DRHOODE: 6/4/01) (M. Rodriguez, 2004) Based on the hose threads at the base of this tool, it appears to be intended for attachment to a garden hose. The central portion of the tool is a valve body. The large hole is slightly tapered, apparently for the insertion of the valve core. Thus this tool resembles a tapered-seat sea cock. The rotating portion of the tool directs the flow of liquid to the nozzle or to the slit. Otherwise the flow is stopped. The tool is 3 1/2" long overall. Cast on the valve body is the word "BOSS". Stamped on the base appear "The Belknap [?] Mfg. Co., Bridgeport, Conn."
