The Tribune photo, dated July 11, 1984, has the following caption on the back: "The 15th annual Great Livermore Airshow will be helf Friday and Saturday, July 21-22 at the Livermore Municipal Airport Terminal. Events, which begin at 11 a.m. July 21, include barnstomrers, sailplane ballet, an aerobatic team, and sky divers. Sponsord by the non-profit Wings for Charity Inc., the airshow will benefit charitable groups." In this photo, pilot Bob Oliver is at the controls in the closed cockpit of his geometrically decorated biplane. Mike Van Wagenen is at the controls of a similarly decorated biplane in the foreground. Both are trailing smoke to make them more visible to spectators on the ground.
