Upper Mound | Richmond
Gift of Bernice M. Mayer

This artifact is a stingray tail that would have been used by the Native peoples as an awl for clothing production. It is possible that the top of this fragile artifact has been lost, and that the stingray tail could have been used as a needle. The collector's notes for this artifact read: "Richmond Upper Mound, stingray tail."

Used: Clothing Production | Sewing | North American Indian
