Tribune caption on the back, April 20, 1952, "Reaching into the sky above the Oakland Airport administration building is the nw CAA Airway Traffic control Center." Photo shows the new air traffic control tower rising up from the administration building. On the tarmac near the building is a plane from the Military Air Transport Service (MATS). In the area nearby are crates and barrels stacked up. In the background, on the other side of the building is a parking lot and more airport buildings. Also visible is the marsh area in front of the airport and the Oakland Hills.
