IBM 7-24-02: Beth Bettencourt created this special gift for her mother, Lillian Bettencourt. Beth could have been around 10 years of age. She used a commercially produced celluloid doll with rigid arms and legs, wrapped a pink satin bow around it, and created a paper tag tied around the doll's neck. The tag is decorated on the front with bow (colored yellow), and reads "Happy Birthday to Mother" On the inside of the folded tag it reads "To a mother that to me is so dear, I hope this token will bring her good cheer." This special gift obviously had great sentimental value for both mother and daughter, evidenced by the fact it was kept for so long.
