Cmdr Everett Alvarez, and her mother, Mrs. Everett Alvarez Sr., watch president Nixon's speech at Miss Alvarez' home here. Both expressed their dissapointment afterward. Miss Alvarez' brother, Navy Lt. Crd. Everett Alvarez Jr. has been a prisoner of war in North Vietnam since August 1964."

Everett Alvarez was the longest held POW during the Vietnam War- of any POW in any American war.
