Tribune caption June 30, 1943 "Clayton Worlds (left), and Paul Hartnek, heavies, will make their debut here tonight in the Auditorium fight show. Worlds will meet Bob Smith in the main event, whil Hartnek will tangle with Jack Scott in the saix-round semi-windup. Worlds and Hartnek are the favorites." Tibune caption Janurary 2, 1944 "Paul Hartnek (left), and Eddie Booker, who will fightthe 10-round main event here Wednesday night. Booker will give away at least 12 pounds to the Alameda heavyweight but will be a betting favorite. Oakland fans indicate they like the match.
