Belt is card woven by hand from wool yarn in olive color, rust color, and brown and acrylic yarn in day-glo orange color and pale yellow. The colors appear in horizontal stripes and dotted lines. Ornate bound tassels are at either end. Belt was worn by Rafael Jes�s Gonz�lez, who participated in many anti-war activities in and around the San Francisco Bay Area during the Vietnam War. He wore this belt with trousers 2003.6.1, during 1968-1975, to lectures, parties, and various events. The trousers and belt were always worn on Noche de Reyes (Twelfth Night), a family/extended family ritual.
