"The Navy Blue Book" or yearbook published in 1960. The book was editied by Tom Compere and published by the Military Publishing Institute, Inc. The book contains basic facts and articles on the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps. Information such as rank insignia, definitions of weapons and ships, how the Navy is organized is included. According to the publisher notes, this is the first year a yearbook of this nature was published. The stated purpose of the book is to bring greater understanding of the Navy by its personnel and the general public and to show the vital role the Navy played in maintinaing peace around the world and protecting the United States in this era of "communist aggression." Inside the front cover, on the title page, is written, "Goodroe, H.W. 8105." No indication of who this is.
