This "ballerina length" party dress is empire style, with piping uner the bustline. Scooped neckline is also piped. Three/quarter length sleeves. Decorated in the back with a bow that hangs from the neckline to below the natural waist. the middle bodice and the skirt of the dress are lined in an inexpensive, slightly stiffened material that matches the outer fabric. Fastens at the back with two hooks and eyes, and a metallic zipper. Label inside neckline reads: Lorrie Deb, San Francisco.
This dress would have been worn with at least one stiff, full petticoat underneath. It was fashionable to wear more than one.
