A: Yellow acetate "Gown" (as used in commencement exercises. Paper label at nape reads: "Treasure Gown, size 54 *1, Made from 100% Acetate, Made in U.S.A. Josten'd, Inc." The gown fastens down the front with a yellow zipper. It is constructed with long sleeves and drops from a square yoke, front and back; the body is gathered and full. There is no collar. B: Cap or Mortar Board, also of yellow acetate, lined in white. At the crown is a red and white paper label printed in black "Jostens, America's Class Tradition, Caps and Gowns, Laurens, S.C. 29360. Congratulations...on reaching a major life achievement -- graduation. Please have a safe graduation. Do not use drugs or alcohol or ride with someone who is under the influence. Remember drinking and driving don't mix." Logos for "SADD" (Students against Driving Drunk and Student Athletes Detest Drugs). M (size of cap) "Front of cap, so it will be worn with the rounded point in the front and the sharp "V" point in the back. Decorated with a self-fabric covered button from which is suspended a yellow and black tassel with a metallic 96 (for the class of 1996) at the top of the tassel.

It is interesting to find a message against drugs, drinking, and driving drunk on the inside of the cap. This, of course, is the last garment a graduate would see before going to the commencement ceremony.
