Article with two photos on back of photo: Jul 18, 1930 "WHERE GAS HORROR BROUGHT TRAGEDY See Add Info below for full text. Photo of consruction yard and hill behind. A 5 x 2 1/2" section of the upper left part of the photo (hillside) has been marked off. The section of the photo may contain the shaft opening from where recues occurred. There are approximately 17 white dots in this heavily treed area . There are open patches between some of the trees. The construction yard has the frame of a building with one and one-half walls, many diferent types and sizes of lumber, some of it looks like scrap. There are pipe lengths (18-24" wide and 10' long?) in a cascadingt pile, stacks of other building materials. Under a pile of scrap lumber is a tunnel opening. On one side of the opening is a dirt hill and on the other is a length of pipe, lengths of tubing and construction supports. At one end of the framed building are a row of 9 barrels. Next to the barrels are two piles of 4 x 4" (?) timbers. One portion is almost as high as the roof. Parked in front of the timber and framed building are several cars and one pick-up truck. Across from the framed building is another building with a constructed up-hill driveway to another building. On this drive way are parked a large sedan or ambulance and large truck. The driveway leads to a white building with two windows . Next to this building is a tall wooden strucutre that could be for an elevator. There is a water tower next to it. Under the wooden structure that has diagonal supports out from it, are various people standing around. There are also large bins nder this section. Just before the hillsdie starts to climb, there appears to be two rail tracks. The photo hs been trimed but exends 1/4" to show the top of the elevator tower.
