With sights det for San Francisco Bay, George Soares, president of Campbell Industries of San Diego, handles the wheel of the sleek, new $4.3 million ferryboat G.T. (Gas Turbine) Marin, which will be delivered next week to the Golden Gate Ferry System. Observing the vessel's speed and performance, in Stan Kowleski, manager of the ferry system, whcih will begin operations from its new Larkspur Ferry Terminal in December. The 210-ton, 165-foot-long, aluminum-hull craft will carry 750 passangers 13 statute miles across San Francsico Bay to San Francisco in 32 minutes, at speeds up to 25 knots (around 30 miles an hour).
