From San Francisco -- WHEN MOONEY WAS CONVICTED This picture was taken during the trial of Tom Mooney in San Franfcisco in 1917, when he was convicted of the 1916 Preparedness Day Parade bombing which killed 10 and injured 40. With him is his wife, Mrs. Rena Mooney, who was later tried and acquitted of complicity in the bombing. Mooney was first sentenced to death, but the sentence was communted to life prisonment. A hearing on hisnewest attempt to obtain vindication has been set for September 17. Associated Press Photo. To her right is a woman in a dark coat and dark hat with very wide brim. Both women's backs are to the camera. In front of the women and facing the camera is a man with dark hair.
