Former President Truman has a broad smile and is holding up for the photographer the front page(s) of the Chicago Daily Tribune with the headline "DEWEY DEFEATS TRUMAN' just befow the name of the newspaper. Under this is a smaller headline 'G.O.P. Sweep Indicated in State, Boyle Leads in City." Under these headlines are various column headings with stories about the various elections. The masthead of the paper has an America flag on the left and the word "Home" on the right. The former President has light colored hair, wears clear glasses and is wearing a dark stripped suit, matching vest, white shirt and dark tie. The vest is buttoned; the jacket is not. Just behind the newspaper a man wearing a dark suit, white shirt and dark patterned tie is visible. Next to him and looking at the newspaper is reporter Ernest H. Vaccaro. He has dark hair and is wearing a dark suit, white shirt and bow tie. In his jacket pocket is a white handkerchief with a vine-like pattern showing above the pocket. Behind and above the men (top of photo) the wall is dark with fancy scroll work. The rest of the wall isa lso dark and there is a narrwo band of accents below the scroll work.
