Portrait of Executive Director, ACLU, Northern California. Mr. Besig is smiling and seated at a table covered with many papers. His hair is combed back on his head very smoothly. He wears dark horn-rimmed glasses and is looking to the photographer's right. He is wearing a dark suit with shadow stripes (3 buttons at the wrist), white shirt and a dark tie with light colored squares and rounds with "holes" that allow the tie's darker color to show through them. His hands are in front of him resting on the table and he may be clasping a pen or pencil in them as his fingers are curved into the palms. He appears to be in a corner where the wall behind him is darker than the wall to his left.
