There are two captions on the back of the photograph. The top caption reads: "VIDA BLUE: Expected to sign." The bottom caption reads: "VIDA AT HIS BEST...ON THE MOUND: Contract squabble keeps the lefthander home." The photo shows Vida Blue on the pitchers mound during a game.

Vida Blue played for the Oakland Athletics from 1970 to 1977.
