Sandals handmade by Gaza Bowen. The lining or base of the sandal is dark brown leather, with a turned up toe. The sides of the sandals are bridgt yellow leather. A polychrome leather strip runs diagonally acroos the foot, on which is appliqued a box-like form with a diagonal stripe of yellow running through it. The sandals are tied on with one polychrome cord, twisted, forming the outside strap of the sandal, running trhough the leather, and then forming the inside band of the sandal; yellow and light blue cords are on the outside, and wrap around the leg (with the polychrome cord) to tie around the leg. Each cord is ended with a different shaped leather form. A: Ricght sandal; B: left sandal.

Gaza Bowen made a series of sandals for her firlends in the mid 1980s. This is a pair of those sandals.
