This small, metallic brown leather case containing ten miniature wooden spools of silk thread is fasten with a metal snap. There's a silk bow at either end; the ribbon is threaded through the spools, holding them in place. The ribbons is threaded through a series of 5 metal eyelets on either side of the case. The lid of the case is lined in purple silk to which as been stitched a semi-circle of white flannel, where one would store a needle or two. A: Leather case. B: Spool of peach colored silk thread. C: Spool of light brown silk thread. D: Spool of yellow silk thread. E: Spool of green silk thread. F: Spool of mauve silk thread. G: Spool of white silk thread. H: Spool of pink silk thread. I: Spool of baby blue silk thread. J: Spool of red silk thread. K: Spool of beige silk thread.

This case and all of the silk threads, which appear probably not to have been used, would have come in handy for mending hosiery while traveling.
