San Francisco April 18, 1906

Glass jar warped by the heat of the fires following the 1906 earthquake. Red writing, by the man who originally found the jar reads "San Francisco April 18, 1906." There is a medal support wrapped around the jar, as it was modified to hand on a lamp of earthquake memoriblia by the original owner.

From ebay add:My grandfather came to America in 1903 or 1904. He found work in San Francisco because of his talent as a musician, magician and skilled metal designer. He was working in San Francisco on April 18, 1906 when the Earthquake happened. Instead of moving to the hills, he explored the ruins. When he settled in the San Joaquin Valley of California, being the creative person he was, my grandfather constructed a lamp, Ferry Building at the top all the relics in a circular cascade. My grandfather put supports around them to hang them on the lamp and to keep them safe from breaking and he wrote in red on all three.
