Boater of straw (marked inside as above under "Inscription." Straw is natural color, the edge of the brim of the hat is thick; the ribbon hatband is striped blue, brown, black and white. There is an interior brown leather band, with a pale gray ribbon bow at the back, over a diamond-shaped tag marked "2." The letters "CH" are perforated in the leather.

This boater, worn during warmer months of the year, was worn by donor's husband, S. William Winogrond.
