A: Right sandal. B: Left sandal. Handmade brown leather sandals with one strap from the inside of the foot to between the large toe and the second toe; another strap from the outside of the foot across the instep. A narrower strap from the outside of the foot, curving so it fits around the ankle and returns to the outside of the foot at the front of the heel. Flat sole.

Sandals Unlimited was an unusual shop on Telegraph Avenue in Berkeley; unusual because the sandals were made by hand, and often made specifically for a particular customer. It came in existance shortly after the end of World War II and was in business for about 25 years. It was in the stylish, trendy portion of Telegraph Avenue between Channing and Haste on the west side of the street. The donor so liked the style of the sandals, and the qaulity of workmanship, that she owned three identical pairs.
