Modoc County is outlined with a border of red, and the adjacent counties are named in red: Lassen and Siskiyou. Stamped on the front of the folder and on the map itself is: "White & Pollard, Bank of Commerce Building, Oakland, California." Paper tag pasted on the front and another on the spine "24." Written in pencil on one of the inner folds of the map: "1700 acres total, 100 R.. B.., cut 1000 ton hay, $15,000 Equit., S.P. station, 1 1/2 mi State ....., Govt. Range adj @ 1.00 per head per year, carries 800 head cattle, 50 head horses .........., cost present owner $130000, D. Bronson." (Both numbers 11 and 34 were written in ink on the cover of the folder, and both were scratched out, in ink.
