This image shows the S.S. John E. Wilkie after the christening. The ship has been launched and is in the water of San Francisco Bay immediately adjacent to Shipyard Number Two in Richmond. There are other, smaller vessels, in the Bay. A portion of the slip is visible in the foreground. Brooks Island is to the right; behind it is a portion of Yerba Beuna Island and the Bay Bridge.
