"MEMORY AND IMAGINATION: The Legacy of Maidu Indian Artist Frank Day" - March 15 to Oct. 19, 1997, Oakland Museum of California.

Oil painting on canvas board of a landscape with figures and a burning Roundhouse. The scene takes place at the edge of a forest with pine trees at upper left and hills in the distance. At upper right, a wooden structure appears in flames with gray smoke trailing into the sky. The front half of the building is gone, showing the dome structure. Two figures appear at lower left. One stands and points at the fire while the other figure rests on the ground wearing a bandage on their right leg and looking out at the viewer.
