"MEMORY AND IMAGINATION: The Legacy of Maidu Indian Artist Frank Day" - March 15 to Oct. 19, 1997, Oakland Museum of California.

Oil painting on canvas board contains a composition of an animal attack. A line of green pine trees separates red ground and blue sky from center left to center right. A black bear appears at center with a human arm in its mouth. Just below, what appears as a cougar drags the limp body of a large deer. At center left, a male figure with bleeding cuts on his body crawls on two legs and one arm. At lower left, a stag is seen running with two arrows stuck in its side.
