From back of photograph: "Lincoln School 1916. J. R. Prosser 4346 Edgewood Ave 3-3-52" A formal group photograph from the Lincoln School. Most appear to be students, though there are two older faces who may be teachers. The class is racially mixed about evenly between Caucasion and Asian-American students. An imposing brick building stands behind the students, probably the Lincoln School itself. There are three pennants lying on the ground that read "Oakland 1916", "Lincoln School", and "California". The photograph appears to include a framework that indicates the class portrait was taken by Hugo Weitz of 3011 Capp St., Fruitvale.
