From caption on back of photograph: "Alameda County high school all-stars and coaches are pictured planning the battle for the O.A.L. game at the California Stadium, December 9. Left to right, Head Coach Frank Ribbel talks to Larry Thomas, Alameda guard; Frank Bennett, Richmond end; Ed Serpa, Hayward end, and Aubrey Laws, assistant coach from Hayward. Both squads have started practice for the tilt, played for charity, under the auspices of DeMolay and American Legion." Two coaches and three players huddle together in the California Stadium. The coaches wear jackets and, in the case of the one on the proper right, a tie. The proper right coach holds a stack of paper that all five men are looking at. All three players wear football uniforms; the center player wears a darker jersey than the others with the number "27" on it. Some loose pieces of paper lie on the ground by the proper left coach. The stadium's stands are visible in the background.
