From "Janssen, George A." folder. From 1953 caption on back of photograph: "Alameda Fire Chief Thomas M. Lane (left) presented an honorary life membership in the Veteran Firemen's Association of Alameda County to Supervisor George Janssen yesterday at the Court House. Janssen helped found the association in 1928 and has supported it through the years." From 1958 caption on back of photograph: "George Janssen - Former Supervisor Dies." Thomas M. Lane presents a framed award to Supervisor George Janssen. Lane is wearing a dress firemen's uniform and glasses. Janssen wears jacket and tie. The visible portion of the award reads: "Veteran Firemen's Association of Alameda County - Award of Recognition."
