From "Hamilton, William J. Alameda County Supervisor Died 11-6-38" folder. From caption on back of photograph: "W.J. Hamilton, chairman of the board of supervisors, at courthouse ground breaking." William J. Hamilton is digging a hole with a shovel. A small silver bucket sits on the ground in front of him, where he is dumping his dirt. Despite his temporary occupation Hamilton is dressed formally, as are the men standing behind him.
