Bort, accompanied by his wife, Jackie Bort, speaks at the ceremonies renaming Oakland's Metrocenter the Joseph P. Bort MetroCenter yesterday. The bronze plaque at left is to be placed in the MetroCenter, which is the first regional agency condominium in California. Located at 101 Eighth St., it houses officies of the Association of Bay Area Governments, the Metropolitan Transportation Commission and the Bay Area Rapid Transport District. Bort, 71, is a former Alameda County supervisor and member of ABAG and MTC." Written on back of photograph: "Joe Bort & wife Jackie receive congratulations at plaque presentation of Joseph P. Bort MetroCenter." Photograph of Joseph Bort at a podium, with a crowd of people standing behind him. His wife Jackie Bort stands to his proper right. On the far proper right is a large bronze plaque which describes Bort's many accomplishments and is headed with the statement: "This resolution dedicates the Joseph P. Bort Metrocenter."
