This pillow sham had been stitched to a backing at one time, but was cut free from the backing before becoming part of the collections of the Oakland Museum of California. Stencilled or painted a teal-green background, the flowers and leaves appear to have been slightly stencilled. The edges, and outlines of the flowers and leaves (including stems) are done in silk floss, outline stitch. The leaves are done in various greens, the flowers are yellow, yellow-orange, and orange color.
