Rawlings Official OLB3 League| "Damn Yankees" autograph and signed by Tab Hunter

This is an autographed baseball used as a prop in the 1958 Warner Brothers movie, "Damn Yankees" starring Tab Hunter and Gwen Verdon. Tab Hunter played the 22-year old baseball hitter Joe Hardy. Damn Yankees is a musical comedy, a modern retelling of the Faust legend set during the 1950s (when the New York Yankees dominated Major League Baseball), in Washington, D.C., with a script by George Abbott and Douglass Wallop and music and lyrics by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross. It was based on Wallop's novel The Year the Yankees Lost the Pennant. Tab Hunter was the epitome of the All-American blond youth of the era. An actor and a singer, he is perhaps most closely identified with the "Golden Youth" of the California beach culture of the late 1950s and early 1960s. The baseball and accompanying movie stills are the gift of the actor. PCK
