White Duck Workshop, Berkeley

Jumper of black velveteen from the White Duck Workshop decorated with appliqued trim. There are five violets, three leaves and one butterfly appliqued on the bodice front. There are four violets and three leaves appliqued at the front hem, slightly to the left of center. One the back of the bodice, three violets and one leaf have been appliqued to the right of center. The rounded neckline, the arm holes and the hemline are all bound in green velveteen. The garment fastens at the waist on either side with two hooks and eyes on either side and ties of the self same black velveteen to tie, probably in square knots. The violets have yellow machine embroidered centers, and are on machine embroidered stems.

This style of embroidered applique work is one of the "trademarks" of the White Duck Workshop.
