4 sheets of blotter paper--two green, one blue, and one white--came with pad. Do not think they are original.
HAF(monogram)

Blotter pad that is part of a Dirk Van Erp hammered copper monogrammed desk set. "HAF" mongram in bottom left side. Backing is brown cloth.

Note from donor, Barbara F. Barbour: "My mother (Inez Dohrmann Pischel) purchased all the pieces in this donation under her married name, Mrs. Harold A. Fletcher, where at that time she lived in West Clay Park, San Francisco-from approximately 1920-1933..."The desk set was a gift from my mother to my father, Harold A. Fletcher, MD for his medical office at 490 Post St., San Francisco where he practiced Otorhinolaryngology, better known as an 'Ear Nose and Throat' specialty. As a child, I remember the set on his desk (with a green blotter) when I visited him in his office; I recall being intrigued by it for some reason and wanting to fill the pens. The pens were black with a gold band at the middle and were filled by opening a gold lever that allowed the ink to be sucked into the chamber from the ink jar. Unfortunately the pens are no longer extant; I think they were made by 'Sheaffer'. One of the penholders was broken off; I don't know when that happened or how."I received the desk set from my father's estate."
