This V Disc record has two sides, 648A is part of the Esquire All-American Jazz Concert and features Woody Herman and his Orchestra playing "Blowing Up a Storm." On side 648B is another portion of the Esquire All-American Jazz Concert, featuring "Chubby" Jackson, Ralph Burns and Woody Herman playing "Jackson Fiddles While Ralph Burns." Also on this side is the combined Woody Herman and Duke Ellington Bands playing "'C' Jam Blues."

The records were prepared by the War Department, Entertainment & Recreation Branch, Special Services Division, A.S.F. (As such, the use od the record for radio or commercial purposes is prohibited.) This record was used at Letterman General Hospital for recreational purposes.
