(A) The front cover contains the text "Brush and Pencil" in an oval cartouche at top center and the text "An Illustrated Magazine of the Arts of To-Day" above a floral graphic. A filigree border separates the cover into upper and lower sections. The front cover (A) is detached from the rest of the magazine (B), which is bound with metal staples. A handwritten poem on a loose piece of paper (C) is tucked into the magazine on page 57.
