1918 California State Agricultural Society medal awarded to Oscar Maurer. Medal contains a female figure at right wearing a helmet and holding a spear and shield. A bear appears in profile at bottom center next to foliage and what appears to be a bale of hay. Ships with multiple sails appear at center left in a body of water with hills in the background. Text around the central image reads, "THE GREAT SEAL OF THE STATE OF / CALIFORNIA". On the opposite side, the text ""AWARDED BY / THE CALIFORNIA STATE / AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY / TO / OSCAR MAURER / PICTORIAL PHOTOGRAPHY / MISCELLANEOUS / 1918" appears at center with a star at top center and a floral border surrounding the text on the medal's lower half.
