The image is of African-American teacher Don Green in formal attire (tuxedo shirt, tuxedo pants, cummerbund, and black bow tie), giving instruction to a handful of African-American students (six are visible), in an art class at King Estates Junior High School. To the (proper) right of Mr. Green is a table covered with magazines and graphic art that have a definite theme: Batman (the movie). Batman paraphernalia can be seen througout the room, with other pop culture graphics. Mr. Green is holding drawing paper. On verso is the photographer's stamp, "Gary Reyes," and the date stamp, "Sept 21 1992." Under that, handwritten in black ballpoint pen, is the note, "Don Green teaches art at King Estates Jr. High wearing a tuxedo."
