A tight shot over the right shoulder of a woman as she hugs a pre-teen boy. The woman, identified as grandmother Carolyn Denard, is on the left half side of the frame's center; she is African American, middle age, moderately heavy, with medium short hair brushed back, wearing a horizontally striped sweater, with a purse strap over her right shoulder. Her right profile is in the top center of the frame and it reveals a beaming smile. She is hugging a boy, identified as her eleven-year-old grandson, Michael Denard, who is facing the camera (looking off-angle to the viewer, toward the center of the frame). He is wearing a baseball cap with a team letter "O." Also on the cap is a metalic pin. He is wearing an athletic-style jacket with a striped collar. He has an appreciative (maybe embarrassed) smile, upon receiving the hug. It is a joyous, private moment in a public place. The setting seems to be an airport lobby. On verso is the stamped text, "Gary Reyes" and "August 8, 1991." Also on verso is the printed caption from the issue in which the image ran, with the printed caption, "Michael Denard, 11, got a 'good luck' hug yesterday from his grandmother, Carolyn Denard." Noted on the caption slip is the printed date stamp, "Fri Aug - 9 1991," and the handwritten note, "BB League - Babe Ruth." Also in handwriting on the back of the photo is the black ballpoint text, "Babe Ruth Bambinos depart for World Series. Michael Denard age 11 is hugged by his grandmother Carolyn Denard before he leaves. There is also three sets of handwritten [printer's ?] alpha-numeric notes across the top of the photo on verso, with two of the items crossed out.
