From the caption that ran with the image: "Back to the books : Classes started yesterday at St. Mary's College, the 125-year-old liberal arts college tucked away in the Moraga hills. The call to get back to studies was made official with the traditional Mass of the Holy Spirit in the campus chapel at 10:45 a.m., when the faculty gathered in colorful academic garb to formally open the school year. The college has about 3,400 undergraduate, master's degree and extended education students." Image depicts several students going in or out of a campus building. From the Oakland Tribune Collection
