This is an intaglio and relief print with chine coll_ inspired by Edvard Munch's work, "The Scream" (1893). The print shows two women against a semi-abstract background with a large red curtain at left and a railing at lower right. Both women appear in animated pose with their eyes closed and mouths open as if in mid yell. The woman at right holds a large purse, and a blue dog appears at her feet. Only the face and arms of the second woman are visible in the composition at lower left.

"Norwegian symbolist artist, Edvard Munch, was not only his country's greatest painter but also a highly skilled printmaker. I was extremely intrigued by his life, which was a reflection of death. His enigmatic figure in the painting 'Scream (Cry)' provoked me to create a new version of his painting into print." / Yuji Hiratsuka
