Written in graphite below plate, BR: "18/20 Dan Miller"

This is a hand-printed color woodcut after Albrecht Durer's work, "Michael Wolgemut" (1516). The print shows a portrait bust of an older man in three-quarter profile against a green background. The man wears a red cloth jacket over a white shirt and a blue cloth hat.

"1. In this portrait Durer is paying homage to his teacher, having served a three-year apprenticeship in the Wolgemut studio. 2. I have always considered Durer to be one of my major teachers and influences. 3. This project speaks to the ongoing and fruitful student-teacher relationship." / Dan Miller
