"James McNeil Whistler's painting of "Nocturne in Blue and Gold: Old Battersea Bridge" 1872-1875, is my selected inspiriation. This painting so confounded the art world that a juror inquired: "The prevailing color is blue?" Whistler's work captures mood, atmosphere, impression rather than the academic mindset of the time." / Sherry Smith Bell
