Plastic water carton, the same shape as a 1-gallon plastic milk carton. Bottle has been crushed from its original shape. Label on carton gives the brand as "Ivette Drinking Water," calling it "Agua Purificada" ("Purified Water") in Spanish and "Drinking Water, 100% Pure" in English. Label also contains a logo for the company, an "Hecho en Mexico" ("Made in Mexico") symbol, a bar code, and other text. Label is creased in several places. A yellow rope, which is extremely tattered, has been looped through the handle of the carton and knotted so that a migrant can carry the bottle over his/her shoulder. This artifact was found on Morning Star Ranch, a ranch in the town of Boulevard in San Diego County, two miles north of the California/Mexico border. Donna Tisdale, the owner of the ranch, retrieved this object as one of many items that people crossing the border through her ranch have left behind. In the donor file is a description of the ranch and the border crossers, as well as thoughts on immigration, written by Tisdale.
