"Lifer," "Here for Life"

One vest used in the Livermore Action Group's protests against nuclear proliferation. The woven synthetic vest with a plastic coating is a red/orange color with blue ties on the side and an unfinished neck. The front of the vest has the word "Lifer" and the image of a purple flower painted on it. The back of the vest has the words "Here for Life" painted on it in green and blue.

In the early 1980s, Rafael Jesús González was active in the Livermore Action Group (L.A.G.), advocating nuclear disarmament through nonviolent demonstrations. Most of these demonstrations took place at the Livermore Nuclear Weapons Lab, and some at other locations such as Vandenberg Air Force Base. Rafael Jesús González's subgroup of the L.A.G. was called "Here for Life."
