Button shows a portrait of a uniformed David March, along with the words "EOW 4-29-02." Used by the Campo Minutemen. Deborah Sattler, a member of the Campo Minutemen, wrote the following to accompany this artifact: "David March is the 'guardian angel' of the Minutemen. On April 29, 2002, Los Angeles County Deputy Sherriff David March was on routine uniformed patrol. March apparently initiated a traffic stop, entering the vehicle's license plate on his Mobile Data Terminal (M.D.T.). Less than two minutes after the entry, a passing motorist observed Deputy March lying in the street bleeding and activated the emergency button on the M.D.T. Deputy March was shot several times, at close range, by a single gunman and died from his wounds. An illegal alien, Armando Garcia, has admitted killing Deputy March. He had previously vowed to kill any police officer who tried to arrest him. Garcia fled to Mexico within hours of killing deputy March and was not extradited for 5 years. The Camp at the Minuteman Project was known as 'Camp David March.'"
