The background of the ID shows an American flag and an image of an American Revolution-era Minuteman, dressed in 18th-century garb, but holding a cell phone and binoculars. The text reads "MINUTEMAN CIVIL DEFENSE CORPS. Secure Our Border 2005. Temporary Field ID. Debroah Sattler. www.MinutemanHQ.com. CALIFORNIA." Used by the Campo Minutemen. Deborah Sattler, a member of the Campo Minutemen, wrote the following to accompany this artifact: "ID cards were provided to the Minutemen to avoid infiltrators. Opposition individuals would come near the Minutemen with Confederate flags and take pictures, pretending to be Minutemen. The myth that the Minutemen had Confederate flags started because at the original Minuteman Project, people were urged to bring their home state flag, and some state flags still have the Confederate flag as part of the larger state flag."
