Center of poster has a green outline of Africa with red text in and surrounding it. In the outline reads, "An Evening of Support for Southern Africa Liberation Wed. April 26 7PM." The left side has "Jane Fonda Tom Hayden/ Leonard Mudavanhu from Zimbabwe/ Jimmy Matsapola from S. Africa/ Music Roots of Creation/ Dance Servinatu/ Booth Aud, Boalt Hall/ UC Berkeley/ college & bancroft/ $3 donation." In the early 1970s U.S. solidarity efforts to support the liberation movements in Southern Africa were in their infancy. This humble poster puts veteran activist Tom Hayden together with newly radicalized Hollywood actress Jane Fonda - three months before she went to Viet Nam and became "Hanoi Jane" and one year before they married.
