Poster has a black background and beige border overall. Center of poster has a drawing of stylized human hands arranged to form a mountain or triangular form. At top is a fist with the text Viva on it. The top of the poster has the text: "La Raza". Below at the base of the drawing is the text: "National Chicano / Moratorium Aug. 29. E. LA. / Belvedere Park - Rally Starts At 10:00 A.M." This demonstration was one of a series of antiwar actions by Chicano and Latino activists around the country. The East Los Angeles event was the largest by far, drawing as many as 30,000 marchers. Strong law enforcement response resulted in the arrest of approximately 150 people and the death of four. [LMC]
